Terms of Use & Educational Disclaimer
How the OrthoTruss™ software, simulators, and guides may be used.
- The simulators and biomechanics tools are educational and research tools.
- They are not a medical device and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or plan treatment for any individual patient.
- They model general physics from generic, user-entered values — they do not use patient data.
- Clinical decisions remain the sole responsibility of a qualified, licensed professional.
Educational & research use only
The OrthoTruss™ biomechanics simulators, calculators, and related software (the "Tools") are provided for education, training, and research. They illustrate general biomechanical and material-science principles using transparent, published equations. Every output is intended to help users understand and study the underlying physics.
Not a medical device
The Tools are not a medical device and are not intended to acquire, process, or analyze any individual patient's medical images, signals, records, or other patient-specific data. They do not diagnose any condition, recommend any treatment, or generate any patient-specific output. They operate only on generic parameters entered by the user (for example, a wire dimension, a force magnitude, or a root geometry). Nothing produced by the Tools should be relied upon as clinical advice for a specific person.
Professional responsibility
The diagnosis and treatment of patients require the independent judgment of a qualified, licensed healthcare professional who has examined the patient. The Tools do not replace clinical examination, professional judgment, or established standards of care. Any clinical decision is the sole responsibility of the treating professional.
Accuracy & limitations
While the models are validated against published literature and disclose their governing equations and assumptions, all simulations are simplifications of reality. Results may not reflect any particular clinical situation. The Tools are provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.
OrthoTruss™ Practice Pioneer — additional terms
The following terms apply specifically to the OrthoTruss™ Practice Pioneer desktop application ("Pioneer") and supplement the general terms above.
Planning tool — not professional advice
Pioneer is a planning and organization tool. Its outputs — including cash-flow projections, budget estimates, lender package documents, market analyses, credentialing timelines, and AI Copilot responses — are estimates based on your inputs and national benchmarks. They do not constitute financial, legal, accounting, or regulatory advice. Always verify figures with a licensed accountant or attorney before making financing, leasing, or staffing decisions. Credentialing requirements vary by state and payer and change frequently; confirm current requirements directly with your state dental board and each insurance carrier.
Purchases & refund policy
The Practice Pioneer Pro license is a one-time purchase with no recurring fees. Due to the immediate delivery of digital software and license keys, all sales are generally final. If you experience a technical issue that prevents the software from functioning on your machine, contact us within 10 days of purchase at choufani8@gmail.com and we will work with you to resolve it or issue a refund at our discretion. Refund requests made after 10 days will not be honored.
License scope
A Pro license is bound to a single machine. You may deactivate and re-activate to transfer to a new machine. The license does not permit installation on multiple machines simultaneously.
AI-generated content
Pioneer's AI Copilot and Document Generator produce content using large language models (Claude by Anthropic). AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. All AI output is labeled as AI-generated within the application. Do not rely on AI output as a substitute for professional review.
Privacy & data
The educational Tools run in your browser and do not require patient information. Do not enter protected health information (PHI) into the Tools. Where an optional account or workspace is offered, only the data you explicitly choose to save (such as saved literature references or your own project parameters) is stored, and only to provide that sync feature. For full details on data collection and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property & trademarks
OrthoTruss™ is a trademark of Jean-Marc E. Choufani. All software, content, branding, the OrthoTruss™ name, and the OrthoTruss™ logo are proprietary and owned exclusively by Jean-Marc E. Choufani. Unauthorized use of the OrthoTruss™ name or logo in connection with any software, service, or healthcare product is prohibited.
The underlying biomechanics engine is proprietary. The research library is made available under a source-available, citation-required license; research use that relies on the engine must cite it as specified in that license. Commercial and clinical-practice use of the library requires a separate license.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OrthoTruss™ and its author shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Tools, including any clinical, financial, or consequential damages.
