An ongoing, no-cost subscription
Verified residency programs and their teaching clinics receive both OrthoTruss subscriptions — Studio Advanced and Practice Conductor — at no cost, for as long as verified program affiliation holds: the same products on the pricing page, not a stripped-down education edition. Every resident and faculty member working through a verified program gets the complete practice-management layer and the advanced clinical tools on top of free Studio, with unlimited patients and unlimited workstations.
This is a genuinely different commitment than a one-time free license used to be. A grant now costs the program nothing every month it stays affiliated, for as long as that affiliation lasts, and we accept that ongoing cost because published residency terms are the clearest way to show what this software actually does for the people who will run tomorrow's practices.

Granted to the program, not to you personally
The subscription belongs to the residency program or teaching clinic as an institution, not to any individual resident as personal property. It stays active for as long as the program's affiliation with OrthoTruss does, covering every resident who rotates through it, not only the one who first applied.
What this means at graduation
Nothing personal is taken away when you graduate, because you never personally held the subscription to begin with. It belongs to the program, and the program keeps it for the next class of residents.
Your own future practice is a separate, personal subscription: your own office, at whatever the published rate is for what you choose to take, free for your first 6 months because you trained on this software. That's the graduate benefit below.
6 months free on your first practice subscription
A program graduate's first OrthoTruss subscription, for their own practice, is free for 6 months, then bills at the standard published rate. It applies to whichever subscription you choose — Studio Advanced, Practice Conductor, or both — once, to your first office location, and it's the same eligibility check described below, not a separate approval process.

If you're eligible for both the residency alumni benefit and the Practice Pioneer graduation credit, the two never stack. You get whichever is larger, applied automatically when we check eligibility, not the smaller one on top of the bigger one. The Pioneer credit keeps its existing 24-month eligibility window from your Pioneer purchase date.

The no-cost program subscription and the 6-months-free graduate benefit are both limited to verified affiliations, so publishing these terms openly never becomes "a free subscription for anyone who asks." What is published is the turnaround: an answer within 10 business days of submitting proof, every time.
That's an eligibility check, not a negotiation, and it's deliberately conservative. A published turnaround only means something if it holds through a busy clinical month, so the number here is one this practice can keep, not the fastest one it could promise.
One email is the entire intake
There is no separate portal, form, or account to create. The same inbox handles a program's no-cost subscription request, a graduate's 6-months-free benefit, and a Practice Pioneer graduation credit, because it's one intake checking eligibility against all three.
- Email licenses@orthotruss.com with proof of your program or teaching-clinic affiliation: a program letterhead, an active .edu or institutional email, or a faculty confirmation all work.
- If you're a recent graduate applying for the 6-months-free benefit, or hold a Pioneer Pro license key eligible for the graduation credit, include that in the same email.
- We verify affiliation and reply within 10 business days with your subscription, the graduate benefit applied, or a request for more documentation if what you sent doesn't confirm eligibility.
Why publish exact terms instead of a "contact us for details" page? Because a program director evaluating software for an entire residency shouldn't have to start a sales conversation just to learn what the no-cost subscription actually covers. These terms are dated, identical for every program that reads them, and checkable against what actually happens when you apply.
